Selena Gomez Admits Secret Rehab Stin

Selena Gomez may be grappling with more serious troubles than her on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber. The 21-year-old star checked into Arizona rehab facility Dawn at The Meadows last month, a rep has confirmed to "The Insider With Yahoo."
Her stay began just after the New Year, on Jan. 5, and lasted for only two weeks. In a statement, the rep was quick to shoot down tabloid rumors, adding, "Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse."

According to its website, Dawn at The Meadows specializes in patients ages 18-26 who are struggling with emotional trauma, addiction, or dual diagnosis concerns.

The timing of her rehab coincides with the breakup of her long-term relationship with Justin Bieber. In the weeks since, he has faced numerous problems of his own, among them an investigation for felonious egging of a neighbor's house in Los Angeles (which saw his good buddy Lil Za arrested on drug-possession charges), criminal battery charges in his native Canada, and DUI arrest in Florida during which he admitted to being under the influence of Xanax, marijuana, and alcohol.

Gomez's secret stint in rehab also seems to explain why, back in December, she suddenly pulled the plug on her 2014 Australian tour for a cryptic reason.

"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," the "Come and Get It" singer  said in a statement at the time. "But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."

Selena Gomez grabbed dinner with BFF Demi Lovato on Thursday night at trendy eatery Craig's in West Hollywood, California. The "Slow Down" singer looked happy as she and Demi were photographed hugging outside the restaurant.

The public outing came less than 24 hours after Justin Bieber was taken to jail for driving under the influence in Miami. Although Selena has yet to comment on her ex-boyfriend's arrest, she was spotted out earlier around L.A. on Thursday appearing in similarly good spirits.

Gomez, 21, just returned from promoting her film "Rudderless" at the Sundance Film Festival, where Bieber also seemed to be the farthest thing from her mind.

Selena and Justin reunited in the beginning of January, sparking rumors that their romance was back on. Bieber even uploaded a cuddly photo of the two on Instagram shortly after the New Year.

However, it appears that reconciliation was temporary.

Selena recently opened up about her friendship with Demi Lovato, who we assume knows the real Jelena story.

"Demi's very, very strong. She's the only person that I would tell the deepest, darkest secrets to," Gomez shared in the March issue of Seventeen. "The only person."

Lovato, 21, also gave us something to talk about during her girls' night with Selena … a new look!

After recently rocking blue tresses, Demi stepped out sporting a bright pink 'do.

Twitter user Nick Sanitsky posted on Thursday afternoon that he’d spotted Justin Bieber, 19, and Selena Gomez, 21, riding Segways through Bieber's neighborhood, The Oaks, in L.A. TMZ first reported the story, attributing it to "Calabasas spies."

Bieber, who had a rough 2013, must be ecstatic about beginning his year with Gomez, his on-and-off girlfriend since 2011.

Both Bieber and Gomez have spoken about how much the end of their relationship affected them and revealed that it inspired them on their latest albums. Gomez told Ryan Seacrest in July that the split caused her to be "way stressed out," while Bieber admitted that it was one of those life experiences that made him think "the world is just gonna end."

Only time will tell if fans can expect anymore heartbreaking songs from Jelena.

"Sorry, the sound isn't working!" Gomez was heard yelled to the crowd. "Are you guys having a good night? I promise, a lot cooler people are gonna come out tonight," Gomez continued. "Is it okay if I perform two more songs and you guys can get to it?"

But it didn't get any better. Clearly agitated, Gomez continued to speak to the crowd hoping the issue would quickly be resolved. "I have to thank you guys so much for allowing me to be able to perform the music that I love," Gomez said. "And I have to say that before you guys go on to the people that you care about, I really appreciate you supporting everything that I do. So this next song is the first song I had hit No. 1, and it's called 'Come & Get It.'"
